Day 01. Bali (Sanur/Kuta/Denpasar) – Ijen area

You will be picked up at your hotel in Bali in the area Sanur, Kuta, Denpasar. It is a three hours drive to Gilimanuk, the village where the ferry leaves for Java. The cross over takes one hour, after which you can have lunch in a restaurant at the seashore. Then we drive to the Ijen Plateau in about 1.5 to2 hours. You still have time to enjoy the surroundings and to visit the plantation before the sun sets.

Day 02. Explore the Ijen area

After breakfast you can explore the area around the village Blawan and visit for example the strawberry garden and the coffee plantation, strawberry and macadamia nuts home industry, waterfalls and the coffee factory. You can also do a little hiking at Kawah Wurung. After a day of exploring, relax in hot spring with sulphur. You spend the night in the same hotel as on day 01.

Day 03. Ijen trekking – Bromo

Departing Banyuwangi: You will have to depart early morning - at around 01.00 am - if you wish to see the blue fire. Otherwise you will depart around 4 or 5 in the morning.

Departing Sempol: it will be around 2 am in the morning if you wish to see the blue fire. If not, you will have breakfast at five with a cup of tea or coffee. It takes 40 minutes to reach Paltuding, the 'entrance' to the Ijen crater.

Please note that the blue-fire-tour is only for those who are in a good and healthy condition.

At Paltuding you three kilometer hike to the Ijen crater lake starts. The one hour hike is more than worth it: a scenic and colorful landscape. Besides, you will meet a lot of sulphur miners carrying loads as heavy as 80 kilograms on their shoulders. At the crater lake enjoy the sea of color, the blue greenish lake in contrast with its environment. Walk around and spend some time.
Once back at the car, don't forget to visit the sulphur weighing area. It is here where the sulphur miners get together, weigh their loads and get paid.

After you fully enjoyed Ijen's crater and its surroundings, it takes about four to five hours to reach Pasir Putih village at the northern seashore. You can have lunch at a beach side restaurant. After lunch you continue via Probolinggo to the Cemara Lawang village. The estimated time of arrival at Cemara Lawang is seven o'clock in the evening.

Day 04. Mt. Bromo sunrise tour – Drop in Surabaya

Another early morning. You will depart around 3 am if you wish to see the sun rise over the astonishing landscape. You have coffee or tea before leaving to Mt. Pananjakan. Your Jeep is waiting to get you there. If you wish, you can also walk from Cemara Lawang to Mt. Pananjakan with a local guide (additional costs involved). After the sun has risen and you have warmed up a bit, the Jeep will bring you to the black Sea of Sand. Take your time as it is a private tour. Once the car stops it is a 45 minutes walk to the top of Mt. Bromo. You can also ride a horse in case it is a bit too much.
Once  back at your car, you will be driven back to your hotel to have breakfast. And then suddenly it is time for you transfer to Surabaya. We can either drop you in a hotel or at the airport (Juanda, if you have a flight after 14.00) in Surabaya.
