Day 01. Flight from Jakarta to Surabaya/Malang - Ijen Plateau

An early morning flight will bring you in approximately one hour and twenty minutes to Surabaya or Malang. Here the crew will be waiting for you. We leave immediately for the Ijen Plateau, a long drive - about 8 to 9 hours (depending on the traffic). To stretch your legs and enjoy a delicious grilled fish (lunch is not included), we will stop at the beach Pasir Putih. This beach is also well visited by locals, it will give you an "inside feeling". Then, you depart for the last stage: going to the beautiful Ijen Plateau (depending on your choice of hotel you will be staying at the plateau itself, or in its vicinity).

Day 02. Explore the fabulous Ijen Plateau

After breakfast you can explore the area around the village Blawan. Views are best early morning, as well activities are most abundant early morning. You can for example visit the strawberry garden and strawberry home industry (only in the dry season), explore the coffee plantation itself, waterfalls and the coffee factory. After a day of exploring, relax in hot spring with sulphur. You can spend the night in the same hotel as on day 01.

Day 03. Ijen trekking – Ketapang/Bali

At 05.00 o'clock in the morning you have breakfast with coffee or tea before departing to Paltuding. Paltuding is the point from where you start trekking to mount Ijen. It takes about an hour to trek the 3 kilometres to the top. On the edge of the crater you can enjoy a panorama at Ijen crater lake. Besides, you can see a lot of sulphur miners with a load of arround 80 kilograms on their shoulders walking up the rim and down the slopes of the mountain. After you enjoyed the Ijen crater lake, there is still time to visit the sulphur factry where sulphur is purified and packed in the village Taman Sari. Hereafter we drive you to the harbour, to catch the ferry to Bali. We can either drop you at the harbour or drop you somewhere in Bali.
Estimated time of arrival in Ketapang: 12.00 noon
Estimated time of arrival in Gilimanuk, Bali: 14.00
